Menus using Java:
Java Menu needs java plug-ins to download information. One can imagine a pop-up warning you that you cannot navigate through the website without installing Java. Luckily the usage of Java Menu is in its last leg. There are plenty of menus which can easily be drafted and easily accessed.
Sites using only Flash:
Flash was a commonly used product, especially, for all people who wanted to add a zing to their websites. Blinking Text: If bouncing text is one of the most irritating things on a website, blinking text is not exactly far behind. As is the case with bouncing text, blinking text does not adhere to HTML standards. Blinking text was created for Netscape browsers, which has become obsolete with the passage of time. To reflect a sense of professionalism, the designer should refrain from using blinking texts in the website layout.
Pop-ups:
The pop-up technique should be used only when necessary. A webpage with many pop-ups without a pre-defined need is a definite eye sore. These days one will notice web browsers blocking traditional pop-ups, thus conveying that adverts should be in a specific area of a web page.
Frames:
Frames can be too complex if not displayed correctly on a page or a device. These become too static. There are better ways to display dynamic content in the page, especially, when you have to keep the balance between static and dynamic content intact
In the end, it would be advisable to use one’s sensibility while designing a website.
